Oh and here's some more of the video. Make sure to catch the police officer saying "The dog is gonna die here now because of you being stupid"

The Mayor said in her statement that the man was screaming she's dead she's dead when he got out of the vehicle, but as the video clearly shows that was not the case.

Isn't he saying, "Look at all these units out here because of you being stupid." ?
Truth is, the police officer is right. The guy was driving 100 mph, and he didn't stop. Cardinal sin #1 in traffic law is not stopping when the police are chasing you. Clearly he didn't stop for long enough that they had to get multiple police cars to join in the chase. The police officer MUST stop people like that in order to protect everyone else on the road. Not only was he driving like a maniac, but he was on the phone? Just like the police officer said, he was risking running into a family of four because he was worried about his dog. It's not even proper to drive like that when a human is dying, that's why they have ambulances. Plus anyone who has gotten a speeding ticket knows that 20 minutes isn't that long for your average ticket because the police always have to spend all this time checking your drivers' license, etc. Especially if you're being chased by a bunch of cops, it's going to take a long time just to explain the situation to everyone. If the cop let him go, he would probably barrel down the road again at an indecent speed- nothing in his manner showed that he wouldn't. The guy was probably too emotional to be driving anyway. I'd also imagine that there is little the vet could have done to save the dog, short of reaching down its throat and pulling out whatever it was choking on, which the couple could have just as easily done themselves.

This isn't meant to be a tirade, I just think cops have to deal with all of these completely nutty people and people don't give them enough credit. Cops get killed when they're doing traffic stops-- to have to confront a completely insane guy who is jumping all over the place and who has been evading the police and swerving around the road is a high-tension situation... the cops probably run into a lot of people who ARE on drugs, and could become violent at any time. It's too bad for the dog, but no reason to make a cop go to counseling, and in my opinion, no reason to excuse the ticket.

I almost completely agree with Zanzibar.
In the same sentence they guy says that there were a few big rigs, but "no other cars on the road". It's not a huge deal, but this is crazy. The cop was out of line a few times, but you know what? That's their job, to serve and protect, and we don't make it easy. I don't know anything about the ticket time, but the couple was WAY out of line on this.

When my dog dies, I will be hurt deeply. But even though I've had her 6 or so more years than they had their dog, I would NOT condone racing to save her life. Not like that. It's one thing if there really are no other cars around, but you can't be weaving around other vehicles like that. Also, for crying out loud, don't ask the cop what his problem is. That's such a douche move. It makes tension rise.

Don't you think it's a little malicious to post their contact information just so people will spam them? Take it down. It's not needed, and more than a little evil.
